Virtual Training and Technical Assistance
CWK Network's doctoral-level training professionals provide a package of virtual training and support throughout all phases of program implementation. A dynamic and flexible offering, virtual training includes interactive online support, website tools and resources, and a dedicated trainer who supports you and your staff via individual phone consultation, scheduled conference calls and two-way online communication. The support is custom to each client and includes:
- Technical assistance support and resources for effective planning and start-up
- Implementation strategy support, staff assessments, best practices tools and instruction
- Peer support strategies, educator tools and resources
- On-going feedback and suggested improvements
- Year Two assessment, planning tools and resources
Targeted Onsite Workshops
Positive Youth Development/Character Education Training
This exciting workshop incorporates lecture, discussion, peer-to-peer interaction and simulated activities to enable educators to successfully utilize the classroom and parent outreach components of the Connect with Kids Character Collection. Educators learn how to help youth develop positive decision-making skills, enhance character development and address critical issues such as responsibility, violence prevention and academic perseverance. The training also covers effective strategies for implementing the program in a variety of settings (i.e. classroom, small groups and one-on-one).
Social and Emotional Training
This professional development workshop incorporates effective adult-learning strategies for successful implementation of the classroom and Parent Outreach components of the Connect with Kids Social & Emotional Collection. The training includes best practices for engaging students in learning about critical topics such as depression and anxiety, coping with loss, peer pressure, body image issues and bullying. The training also includes information on the latest trends in social and emotional development and strategies for implementation in a variety of settings.
Health Education Training
Training focuses on best practices for engaging youth in learning about critical topics such as nutrition, eating disorders, physical fitness and mind-body connections. The training also includes information on the latest trends in Health education and includes strategies for implementing the materials in a structured health class and other youth settings.
Reach and Teach Through Media
Learn how to use the free Connect with Kids resources including the television programs, non-subscriber Web resources, backpack flyers for involving parents, and much more. The training includes information about the influence of media, how to bring TV and Web into the classroom, media literacy and a copy of an award-winning half-hour program with Resource Guide. This is a great way to get started in the Connect with Kids initiative.
Custom Training Designed Around Specific System Needs
CWK Network will custom-design training around topics specific to your school or school district, such as prevention/intervention, attendance/truancy, obesity, bullying, teen driving and more. Training includes research-based strategies for effectively engaging students and parents. Participants also receive a copy of an on-topic half-hour program with Resource Guide and custom-driven implementation methods.
